To discuss the prenatal ultrasound manifestations of crossed-fused ectopic kidney.

An analysis of prenatal ultrasound findings and postnatal autopsy features was performed on seven cases of fetuses with crossed fused renal ectopia that were identified by ultrasonography at Beijing obstetrics and gynecology hospital, in the period of January 2014 to May 2015.

Of 7 fetuses with crossed fused renal ectopia,the kidneys were ectopic from left to right in 5 fetuses and from right to left in 2 fetuses. The two kidneys were S-shaped fusion in 3 fetuses, L-shaped fusion in 2 fetuses, and disc-shaped fusion in one fetus, cake-shaped fusion in one fetus.Complicated malformations: hypoplastic left heart syndrome in one case, spinal cord malformation in2 cases, multicystic dysplastic kidney in 2 cases.

Fetuses with CFRE have characteristic prenatal ultrasound imaging, prenatal ultrasonography can provide reliable informations in the diagnosis of this disease. Prenatal diagnosis of CFRE can provide guidance for clinical obstetrical management and postnatal treatment.
