Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the clinical value of image fusion navigation and CT in percutaneous lung biopsy for peripheral lung lesions.

Methods

Sixty-four peripheral lung lesions were included in the research. These patients were divided into image fusion-guided group (32 cases) and CT-guided group (32 cases). The accuracy of puncture and the incidences of complications were comparatively analyzed.

Results

Thirty cases (93.8%) were successfully punctured in the image fusion-guided group, and 32 cases (100%) were successfully punctured in CT-guided group, there was no significance difference between the two groups (P=0.47). The incidences of complications was 6.3% (2/32) in image fusion-guided group and 25.0%(8/32) in CT-guided group, there was a significantly difference between the two groups (P=0.04).

Conclusion

Image fusion-guided percutaneously transthoracic lung biopsy is a safe and accurate diagnostic procedure for peripheral lung lesions.
