Abstract:
Objective To assess the diagnostic value of prenatal echocardiography in fetal congenital vascular rings.
Methods The data of 112 fetuses with congenital vascular rings at Ningxia Women's and Children's Hospital, Beijing University First Hospital from February 2016 to July 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The diagnostic value of echocardiography in congenital vascular rings was assessed, and the complications and pregnancy outcomes of different types of vascular rings were analyzed.
Results Among the 112 fetuses included, 60 (53.57%) had an aberrant right subclavian artery, 40 (35.71%) had a right aortic arch, 8 (7.14%) had a double aortic arch, and 4 (3.57%) had a pulmonary artery sling. Sixty-two (55.36%) cases were complicated with abnormal ultrasound indicators outside the vascular ring, with the top three being ventricular strong echogenic spot, tricuspid regurgitation, and ventricular septal defect. Eighty-one (72.32%) patients had no postpartum clinical symptoms, 18 (16.07%) had induced labor, and 13 were lost to follow-up.
Conclusion Prenatal multi-section echocardiography screening has important diagnostic value for fetal congenital vascular rings.
