Abstract:

Objective

To explore the value of ultrasound in the diagnosis of complete uterine rupture during the second trimester pregnancy.

Methods

The preoperative sonographic features and clinical data of eight patients with uterine rupture confirmed by operation in the second trimester pregnancy were analyzed retrospectively from 2010 to 2019 at Beijing Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, Capital Medical University.

Results

There were abnormal ultrasonic manifestations in all the eight cases. Ultrasonic manifestations were complex. Based on high risk factors and clinical manifestation of complete uterine rupture, there were two confirmed cases, four suspected cases, and one case of threatened rupture of the uterus by ultrasound diagnosis. One case was misdiagnosed as placental abruption.

Conclusion

Ultrasonography is an important tool for diagnosis of complete uterine rupture during the second trimester pregnancy.
